Service Description

The relationship between managers and their team members is key for the health and wellbeing of the whole organisation. The course builds skills in leaders to feel confident to have mental health conversations as part of their everyday management. This course will ensure that everyone with people management responsibilities have consistent approach to mental health and wellbeing across teams and departments, promoting healthy performance throughout the whole organisation. By undertaking the course managers will learn to: Identify if an employee may be experiencing mental health issues Feel confident to have open conversations about mental health with their team members Appropriately signpost to available support and know where to go for support and guidance for themselves Model good self-care practice, and in so doing inspire their teams to look after their own mental health and wellbeing This course is lead by Maurice Lawrence, a competent management and training consultant with extensive experience of working within the statutory, private and third sector organisations. He is an approved Mental Health First Aid England instructor, with responsibility to deliver the Adult MHFA, Champions, MH Skills for Managers, MHFA Refresher and MHFA Aware courses.
